Experience
I have tutored writing, psychology, and sociology for two years through my college's Academic Support Center. In high school I scored a 30 on the ACT and received a 5 on both the English Composition and US History AP exams. I want to be a tutor because in my experience it is very rewarding to be able to use my knowledge and gifts to help other people learn. I also love being able to work one-on-one to build a personal relationship with the people I tutor as well. I have taken college level english classes, both literary and creative-writing types including a course in grammar. I have also taken numerous psychology, sociology, and history classes. In April I was awarded the George Birkhoff English Prize for a literary research paper. In February I presented a paper at the Michigan Arts, Sciences, and Letters Conference at Oakland University. Last summer I aided a professor in literary-based research for a book she is in the process of writing.

I spend a lot of time reading and writing for fun. My friends and I like to go to the movies (I have a soft spot for superhero movies!) and go shopping. I also love to travel and find new places to explore.
