I am a teaching assistant in English and general humanities classes at Michigan State University and am in the process of earning a Master's degree in English. I have a passion for teaching and helping to make literature and other humanities subjects feel more accessible and relevant to students who struggle with those fields. I am extremely patient and am good at responding to students' frustrations. I have over 60 hours of training as a crisis counselor with the Listening Ear and I find that these skills carry over very well to listening and responding to student concerns.

Hobbies
My research in graduate school is focused on gender and social issues in contemporary film, media, and literature. Outside of my reading, writing, and research, I enjoy running, doing yoga, going to farmer's markets, indoor gardening, cooking, baking, and listening to and playing music (I play the cello). Also, I love pets (I have 3 bunnies and a family dog I love to take for walks and runs when I visit home!), so meeting in a home with pets is not only doable but definitely a nice little bonus for me!
